Neatbooks

NeatBooks provides a lower-cost alternative to shrink-wrapped accounting software for those farmers and small business owners who only need a general ledger.

Books:

• No limit on the number of sets of books.
• Make a new set of books using one of the supplied templates.
• Create your own custom templates.
• Prepare income statements for multiple divisions of the same company from a single set of books.
• Individual company files may be password protected.
• Store data files on a local or network disk drive.
  

Accounts:

• Add new accounts as they become necessary.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, or any other accounts.

Transactions:

• Enter transactions using the general journal, or directly on an account.
• Transactions that affect more than 2 accounts are accommodated using a “split”.
• Transactions may be moved to another account.
• Easily record recurring transactions using the Common Transactions tool.
• Calculate and account for up to 2 sales taxes.

Reporting:

• Preview reports on screen.
• Print reports to the default printer or to any other available printer.
• Print multiple copies of any report.
• Export to reports to spreadsheet, word processor, or PDF file.

The best way to learn about NeatBooks is to download the evaluation version of the software. The evaluation version of NeatBooks is available, free of charge. This version of the software will operate only for a limited time, but any information that is added to the database can be retained in the event that you decide to purchase the software. The evaluation version of NeatBooks is fully functional and has not had any features disabled. A time-limited version of NeatBooks can be downloaded from the NeatBooks Downloads page. To obtain an evaluation version of NeatBooks, send us a completed order form and indicate "Evaluation" as the desired version.

Evaluation Version
To try the evaluation version of NeatBooks perform the following steps:
1. Download the self-extracting zip file containing the NeatBooks Evaluation Version to a convenient location.
2. Execute this file after it has been downloaded and a copy of the NeatBooks installation CD will be extracted. The default extraction folder is C:\NeatBooks Evaluation\.
3. After extracting the contents of the ZIP file, see "readthis.html" for further instructions and important installation information.

NeatBooks updates should be installed on all licensed computers.  Users of of Windows Vista or Windows 7 may be required to right-click on the downloaded file and choose the "Run as administrator" option in order to install an update.  Hover your mouse over a hyperlink to see more information about the contents of the download.

• CAUTION:  The updates provided above are for users of NeatBooks Version 4. These updates have been pre-configured to update the default installation folder. If your software has been installed to a different folder, specify the name of the folder that contains NBKS.EXE.
